Pain and Hypersensitivity

Pain over the hand and fingers can be caused by an array of problems ranging from soft tissue to bone injuries. Pain is usually over the site of injury such as over a dislocated joint but can also be felt over the neighbouring joints. Symptoms may be intermittent or continuous depending on severity of the injury. Pain that is constant which keeps you up at night are of particular importance and should be looked into.

Hypersensitivity over the hand and digits are also common conditions of the upper limb. It is usually referred to as a reaction of extreme discomfort or pain in response to a stimulus that is usually non-threatening and does not normally provoke pain. Symptoms could be due to but not limited to an injury to the nerves that innervates the fingers, tender scars and due to prolonged immobilisation of the hand.
